OLPP is a key component of the logistics system of the Polish petroleum sector. It stores not only obligatory fuel reserves and state reserves, but mainly fuels for everyday use in retail sale - petrol, diesel oil, light heating oil and aircraft fuel. Among all companies operating on the Polish fuel storage sector, OLPP holds the most developed network of Fuel Bases located all over Poland. In the last year, 66 per cent of liquid fuels stored in Poland were stock up in OLPP storage containers.

In terms of oil derivatives market segment – there have been an upward trend in consumption of fuels in the past few years – in particular, in the consumption of diesel oil and petroleum gas. The highest consumption of fuel is recorded in the biggest Polish agglomerations – Warsaw, Gdańsk, Poznań, Łódź, Wrocław, in the Silesia and Kraków. According to the forecasts, demand for oil derivatives will continue to grow, especially the demand for diesel fuel.

Fuel storage market in Poland undergoes constant changes due to regularly amended legal regulations on the obligatory fuel reserves and attempts to create independent logistics system by the biggest Polish companies. In the next few years, OLPP shall undertake actions to be able to maintain its leading market position in the fuel transhipment and storage sector, mainly due to takeover of product pipelines from PERN „Przyjazń” S.A. and construction of new storage capacities.
